  • Single

    Warm atmosphere

Bed was too short for 6ft person.

  • Couple

It is a very nice luxurious hotel, with very nice friendly staff. The situation of the hotel was fantastic with fantastic views. All in all a fantastic break.

  • Single

The bedroom was done out to a very high standard with a beautiful view of the sea and gardens.

I did have dinner there but all options seemed to be quite formal - would have preferred a more relaxed evening bar menu.

  • Older travelers

Great room (lovely sea view), great staff. Pool/spa very nice. Great breakfast.

    It was very expensive.

  • Older travelers

Everything looked so fresh and beautifully maintained. The staff were delightfully helpful. The food was deliscious

  • Older travelers

Location and food. Very close to the Eden project.

We requested a room with wheelchair accessible facilities and a sea view. We had neither. Despite checking before booking and being told 'Thank you for your email. We do have rooms that are wheelchair accessible and can cater for wheel chair users' we found that none of their 86 rooms are adapted for disabled guests and they don't have any disabled parking spaces. The 2 'aids' they put in the bathroom were actually dangerous. The shower screen was off it's runner and in danger of falling off. I told reception about this twice and was told they would send the porter to look at it, but nothing was done. The atmosphere is stuffy and pretentious, and the lounge made me think of an up market care home.

  • Couple

Staff were excellent. The hotel was well run & efficient.

We ordered lobster & did not recieve the appropriate utensils to eat it - correct fork, pair of claw pliers, finger bowl, larger napkin.

  • Group of friends

I liked everything about this hotel the location, the facilities, the food, the staff etc... But the one thing that stood out was how well the hotel was looked after. So much so that I thought that it had recently been refurbished but was assured by the staff that it hadn't been. After a day out sightseeing a relaxing cream tea in the lounge was very welcome. My thanks to the hotel staff for such an enjoyable stay.

  • Single

Professional, friendly service from staff - it's great when people are professional but retain their individual personality. Having an actual teapot in the room makes a difference to me! The breakfast was good - I am gluten-free and this is the first hotel I have ever stayed at where gluten free toast was produced on request no problem. (And it is a good brand of gluten free bread too!) I was on a business trip, arrived very late after a long drive, and the welcome was good, it included making sure I had my bearings, knew where eveything was, how to get food if I needed something to eat. I'll definitely be back.

  • Older travelers

The Location, the food and our room were all very good.

This is an expensive hotel, I should not have to pay extra for an Internet connection.

  • Older travelers

Very relaxing, traditional decor/furnishing, relaxing ambience. attentive staff. excellent spa.

coastline and immediate site is pleasant but not great surrounding location.

  • Group of friends

Excellent service from all staff, very good selection of food and especially wine.

My room was unaccountably warm, but this didn't cause me a big problem. Also, whilst they provided 24hrs free internet, they charged beyond that. Both of these were very minor issues and did not detract from the experience.

  • Couple

All staff polite and helpful. Wished I could have had a sea view room.

  • Older travelers

lovely atmosphere, relaxing enviroment. care and attention of all the staff.Excellent furnishings and decor. Lovely food with the choice of a la carte and table haute.the topping up of tea and coffee was regular and fresh milk was provided when we asked.

table for 2 was very small in restaurant.

  • Single

The swimming pool and gym facilities are very good. The staff were extremely helpful, there were 2 restaurants and various bars which was also very good.

If you do not book the room with meal included, food at the hotel is very expensive. The room itself was dated and in need of refurbishment.
